Description
The University of Chester is seeking to appoint a Digital Workplace Services Technical Officer to join the Learning Information Services (LIS) department within the Digital Workplace Services Team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly developed technical team who support staff and students with IT and audio-visual equipment.
You will be mostly based at the Wheeler Building, with the opportunity to work alongside colleagues at the nearby Exton Park site, with occasional travel to other University of Chester sites. The role is predominantly based on-site but there are opportunities to work from home.
Experience of working with technical equipment, excellent communication, and problem-solving skills are required. You will have good organisational skills, the ability to manage your own workload, and maintain vital documentation. Good knowledge of Microsoft applications and working knowledge of Windows and Apple devices is essential.
Full training on the breadth of the role will be provided, and there is the opportunity to gain industry standard AV and IT qualifications whilst in post.
The University offers a flexi-time scheme and a very generous pension package for Professional Service staff, as well as the opportunity for job sharing. This role is a permanent contract for 36.5 hours a week. The Digital Workplace Services Team and wider LIS department are a supportive community and are excited to welcome a new Technical Officer.
The University of Chester particularly welcomes applications from women, who are currently under-represented in this field. All appointments will be made on merit.
