About us
The Science and Industry Museum delivers bold, creative, and ambitious public programming and corporate experiences. Our Gallery Maintenance team plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of the Science & Industry Museum exhibits and galleries.
We are now recruiting for a Digital Technician to join the team at the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester on a permanent contract, working full-time hours of 36.25 per week.
About the role
As a Digital Technician you will be a key member of our team, you will contribute to maintaining exhibits and offering the highest standards of technical services to support the museum.
You will be collaborating with colleagues, stakeholders, and contractors to design and specify AV, digital, and interactive systems for exhibitions, galleries, and events, whilst also assisting in the creation of new galleries and exhibitions.
You will deliver high-quality AV and technical support for events, including equipment setup, providing expert advice, and addressing technical queries from both internal and external clients. Demonstrating excellent customer service in all interactions.
About you
Joining us you have previous experience of working as an AV technician or providing practical AV installation and maintenance to exhibitions, events, or theatrical productions in public spaces. You will be able to deliver exceptional AV support to live events including supporting clients from the planning stage onwards, and providing live audio, video, and lighting to events.
Crucially you will have experience of working on Audio Visual installation and integration projects including adherence to specifications, timelines, quality standards, budget constraints and health and safety standards.
