COMPANY INFORMATION

For over 40 years Cloud One has been offering dynamic Technical Production Services and Equipment Rental to the arts, corporate and local authorities in The Midlands, UK + Worldwide.

Our team is made up of experienced project managers and technicians that cover a wide range of disciplines including Sound, Lighting, AV, Staging, Set Design and Site Power.

HOURS:

40 hours per week. Generally 09:00 AM – 17:30 PM (including a half hour lunch break), plus overtime as required outside of those hours.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

  • To join our highly motivated, forward looking team dealing with the preparation, maintenance, service, installation and operation of our high specification sound, lighting, video, set, staging, backline, DJ, and rigging systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

These will vary according to the experience level and abilities of the candidate. Most of these duties will be performed as part of a team of employees. These duties will include:-

  • Preparation of equipment for hire, including testing of equipment.
  • Loading, delivering & collecting equipment and systems.
  • De-preparation of equipment from hire including, cleaning , maintenance, booking of items in for repair
  • Deliveries and collections to and from clients and suppliers in the company vehicles.
  • Setting up and derigging of equipment and systems
  • Set up and operate systems for a variety of events including Exhibitions, Sports meetings, Awards Ceremonies, Festivals’, Classical concerts, Roadshows, Seminars and Conferences.
  • Repair and maintenance of equipment and cabling systems (subject to experience)
  • PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) of rental inventory
  • Maintaining a safe working environment at all times by adhering to Cloud One’s Health & Safety policy.

Additional training will be provided as and when required.

Personal requirements:

CANDIDATE:

  • The candidate will be an enthusiastic, conscientious individual with a deep interest in one or more of the areas of expertise within which the company operates (e.g. sound, lighting, video etc).
  • They will have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and follow set procedures.
  • They will show a very close attention to detail.
  • They will be open to long, antisocial hours of work at weekends as well as standard hours in the warehouse.
  • They will be self motivated, and show initiative; able to continue working without supervision where necessary.
  • They will demonstrate a professional approach to customers, suppliers and colleagues at ALL times, through appearance and self presentation, timekeeping, attitude etc..
  • They will be equally at home working as part of a team or working on their own
  • They will have good communication skills with staff, crew, clients, and suppliers

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

The following points are seen as very advantageous, but not essential:

  • At least 3 years experience in the industry
  • A good working knowledge of Sound, Lighting and Video systems
  • Holding a full, clean UK Driving Licence
